Market Updates

Have you heard the old adage, "timing is everything"? Well, that might be true for relationships, but timing is not something to stress over when considering when to list your home in Southern California. Why? Because the best time to list is the time that works for you. The best time is once you've decided you need a bigger home, a different neighborhood, or a better school district. The seasons of the year will not negatively affect you. Here are three reasons why it's ok to list during Fall and Winter in SoCal.

#1) Buyers are still shopping

Southern California weather is mild throughout the year. Buyers do not have to fight through sleet and snow to tour homes as is the case in other markets across the US. In sunny SoCal, and especially in Los Angeles County, buyers are active and shopping through all seasons.

#2) Prices do not decline

If you've heard that the real estate market slows down during the Fall and Winter, keep in mind that statement refers to the number of homes sold NOT the prices for which they sold. Except...this Fall is shaping up differently than other years. Normally, we do see fewer homes going up for sale in Fall. But, this year seems to be a bit different. Check out how inventory has been increasing rather than decreasing as we head into Fall.

#3) Work with the best, not the rest

Part time agents and looky-lo buyers take a break to enjoy the holiday cheer. But, full time agents and serious buyers stay the course.
